The first part of the class will be dedicated to learning the characteristics of clay and exploring hand and slab-building techniques to create functional ware or sculptural forms for the beginner. As the session progresses students can continue on with hand-building or will be introduced to the potter’s wheel to find their own creative expression form. More advanced students are encouraged to further develop their skills and creative expressionism with various decorating and glazing techniques.
